Kids at Beach

The Counselor in Training (CIT) program at Champion is for former campers who are now incoming 8th - 10th graders (13 - 15 years old). The program is ideal for those who loved being campers and are now looking for a leadership experience and a way to stay involved with camp. CITs will be asked to help supervise groups as well as perform small chores.

CIT Program Perks & Benefits

How To Apply

If you are interested in enrolling your child in the Champion Summer Camp CIT program, please send an e-mail to tbasso@championsummercamp.com to get the process started. We make every effort to find a schedule that will fit around other plans your child has, so please include as much information as you can about your child's summer plans (even if such plans are only in the "idea phase"). It usually takes weeks of e-mail correspondence to finalize a schedule. Plans are usually finalized in April.

CITs must commit to the full week (Mon - Fri) for any week they are part of. CITs usually participate in two weeks (not necessarily consecutively) but sometimes just a single week. Exact schedules must be worked out and confirmed* with the camp director. The process to finalize the schedule is very collaborative and typically takes weeks (or even months) to finalize.

CIT pricing is based on a participant's grade level for the '23-'24 school year:

  • $100 per week for incoming 10th graders.
  • $200 per week for incoming 9th graders.
  • $300 per week for incoming 8th graders.

*Official schedules will be confirmed on May 1.

  • Must be at camp 8:40 AM to 3:20 PM every day for any week they participate in.
  • Must attend a mandatory training session on Sunday, June 18 from 4:00 - 5:00 PM.*
  • Will have a job to do in the morning, lunch, and afternoon.
  • Will be assigned the group they work with.
  • Are not allowed to leave campus except when with the camp on a field trip.
  • CIT cell phone use at camp is strictly forbidden the entire day (they are not allowed to even carry one in their pocket).

*Alternate training schedules can be arranged if need be.
